The late Dr. Eric R. Brown, M.D., Ph.D., following the ideology of earlier work, verified and updated a major cancer research treatment breakthrough.  Its cornerstone was a belief he shared with others that cancer, contrary to popular thought, is not many diseases, but is in fact a single disease caused by or exacerbated by a particular virus or virus particle which expresses in various ways. The result of his research for CHAI Foundation now supports that belief. “Protein-B (LPN)” which he investigated with help from Chai Foundation, appears to work across the board on many solid tumor sites with little or no toxicity, per se.

Dr. Brown was a world-class medical doctor who held a Ph.D. in Virology and another in Immunology, an M.S. in Microbiology, and a B.A. in both Biology and Chemistry. He is listed in “Who’s Who in the World” (1960), in addition to other "Who's Who," and had an extensive curriculum vitae; a précis of which is given on the Q & A’s page. After early retirement from his university at the Chicago Medical School, he continued his important work through Chai Foundation.

CHAI Foundation will continue his important work and move into patient studies as soon as is possible.

CHAI Foundation has been approached by a research group overseas interested in underwriting the patient studies – if the studies are done there. We at CHAI Foundation would prefer to complete the research here in the US, and are currently seeking collaboration with a university cancer research center or pharma company to complete the special studies.

Animal studies are required for medical research for the purposes of determining safety and efficacy of a drug or medication. The closer an animal's physiology is to the human, the greater the chance is that it will work in humans or vice-versa, but this is not always the case. CHAI Foundation supports only the most judicious and humane use of animals in research. In point of fact, many animals used in the studies had naturally acquired malignancies, and injections of Protein B was shown to eliminate and/or reduce these lesions.

CHAI Foundation is committed to the belief that we cannot leave any stone unturned in the pursuit of lifesaving advances for the human condition. We need not agree with nor even understand a new theory, but we must consider allowing research to follow unique ideas – ideas that may result in the advancement of knowledge to benefit humankind.

We at CHAI Foundation believe Dr. Brown came across a unique and promising anti-cancer agent. His research has the potential to benefit us all.

This brilliant medical scientist and dedicated humanitarian will be sorely missed as he joins the ranks of those who went before, but who carved out another step on which those that followed could climb higher.

CHAI Foundation will continue the work he began as both a memorial to him and a hope for humanity.

And we need your help.
